Couples left, Right and Center

Christmas is in full swing up here. Everybody should make a trip to Salt Lake and see the Christmas lights! They're not as impressive as they used to be but we do have some cool nativities and performances in the Tabernacle & Conference Center everyday. My CA blood can't hang, hot hands and wearing sweats under my dresses are my best friends haha We had to tell Gegorio that Sister Mendez and I only have 1 more week together. He was so sad that I'd no longer be there to teach him english. Hopefully we will be able to watch his baptism  on December 30th  through zoom! We had the privledge of going to the Orem temple open house yesterday. Open houses are the coolest because everyone is welcome to enjoy the beauty of the temple before it is a dedicated building. It also shows that what we do inside temples is sacred not secret. If it was a secret they wouldn't open them up for everybody to walk through.  3 Nephi  1:13 : Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for beh...

First and Last Member Meal

Happy Thanksgiving!! Thanksgiving, p day and our only member meal of the mission all in 1 day, sorry if I don't respond.  There's nothing Utahns dislike more than California. Everyday this week I've had someone go on a rant about how much they don't like CA. I might start telling people I'm from AZ or something just to avoid the shade being thrown. Jk I'll always claim Orange County. They all make a point to say how much they like Disney and Newport though.  The Christmas lights turn on tomorrow! I think we are more excited about that than we are actual Christmas. This also means that our schedule changes  from 6:30-10:30   to   7:30-11:30.   But church and relief society still   start at 7:45  on Sundays and Wednesdays so pray for us and our lack of sleep. I'm gonna be honest Thanksgiving is probably my least favorite holiday. I don't eat a ton of food, I'm not a fan of pie, stuffing or yams but I love the attitude of being grateful. Gratitu...

I came across this poem this week and felt I needed to share. I hope you enjoy <3 "Last night I had a dream, It took my breath away. It's something I have longed for,  And hoped would happen someday. The Savior stood beside me, He wiped away my tears. He told me all my secrets, And he told me all my fears. He told me all that's promised, If I stay more than this year. Then he started crying, As he whispered in my ear. He told me he feels the pain, Of the weight put on my shoulders. It's a heavy burden to hold, One compared to boulders. He told me of the weight he bore, That night in Gethsemane. Then he told me softly, That he did it all for me. I sat there and cried, As he told me all my sorrows. He told me that he knows, For it's the pain he borrows. I asked him why he doesn't, Just take it all away. Then he told me gently, It will all make sense someday. He wrapped me in his arms, He hugged me oh so tight. It was in that moment,  I knew everything would be...

100 Days as a Missionary!

For some top tier luz de las naciones content go see my photos and videos.  We got to serve at Welfare Square this week. I just loving service so much. Don't get me wrong I love Temple Square but I look forward to the days that we serve at the Humanitarian Center or Welfare Square. We also got to taste test the cake mix, canned peaches and canned pears which is super rare. Both of our most promising friends ghosted us this week. The worst part is that they ghosted us when we made plans with their local Elders so we weren't only wasting our time but also the locals time. Super unfortunate but hopefully they come around some day.  After our friends ghosted us I was praying for ways to be more effective. At the end of the day our friends have agency but it was still hard to not wonder what we could've done better. During personal study I came across Mosiah 3:4 and it says,  "For the Lord hath heard thy prayers, and hath judged of thy righteousness, and hath sent me to dec...
