The Real Deal

Some of you accidentally got a sneak peak to this email on Sunday haha oops 

First things first, send me all your favorite easy, healthy recipes. Preferably the least amount of ingredients needed bc we're balling on a mission budget.

I'm officially jealous of every other missionary because they actually get to watch conference while we run around trying to eat super fast before getting back to our assignment and hopefully listen to the last talk of each session. But at the same time the night before conference is like the night before prom here. Everyone is picking out dresses, painting nails, fake tanning, getting their hair done etc. And it's so fun hahah. I also saw so many people I know including my brother which was a good surprise!

We may or may not have gotten on TV before and after the sunday afternoon session of conference so we're basically famous. Hahah jk but it was fun to get lots of pics sent to me from people watching. 

This week kinda started off on a rough note. Sister Mendez was super sick but we couldn't find covers for some of our assignments so I was giving her lots of dayquil and dragging her along with me. I felt super bad but missionary work has to happen no matter what. It made us both extra grateful for good health. 

Remember when I said its okay that I'm in the far away apartments because it's not cold yet... I already had to use my winter coat a couple times this week so pray for me in a couple months. 

Since my comp was sick I got to watch the Sunday Morningsession of conference. I loved Emily Belle Freemans talk about walking the path regardless of our circumstances. She said, "Christ will let mortality do its work on us but won't make us do it alone" Christ won't exempt us from bad situations but he will be with us every step of the way and that is so comforting.

First and Last Member Meal

Happy Thanksgiving!! Thanksgiving, p day and our only member meal of the mission all in 1 day, sorry if I don't respond.  There's nothing Utahns dislike more than California. Everyday this week I've had someone go on a rant about how much they don't like CA. I might start telling people I'm from AZ or something just to avoid the shade being thrown. Jk I'll always claim Orange County. They all make a point to say how much they like Disney and Newport though.  The Christmas lights turn on tomorrow! I think we are more excited about that than we are actual Christmas. This also means that our schedule changes  from 6:30-10:30   to   7:30-11:30.   But church and relief society still   start at 7:45  on Sundays and Wednesdays so pray for us and our lack of sleep. I'm gonna be honest Thanksgiving is probably my least favorite holiday. I don't eat a ton of food, I'm not a fan of pie, stuffing or yams but I love the attitude of being grateful. Gratitu...
